Coma

I am in a frosting coma!! I've been working on this cake for my friends baby shower and I think I have tried and tasted my weight in frosting. Well.....it's techincally supossed to be a ganache. Which it tastes amazing!!! However....it's not so thick. Placing it between the two layers of cake that took me forever to bake (more on that later), seems to just squish out. So I then atempted to make a buttercream with the ganache. Adding butter, shortning, and powdered sugar. Its good, but not as good as the ganche. Problem number two is now the two layers are stuck together. And are currently in the frezzer in the hopes of making a solid mass which will make the prying apart that much easier (or harder, depending on how you look at it). This is a 12x12 cake people!!!! Stupid me!! WAY OUT OF MY LEAGUE!!!!! I will probably have to bake new ones in the morning. I gave up working on the cake because: A. Too much sugar has made me a bit lethargic. B. I need to step back and gather my few remaining thoughts, and approch it with a new perspective.
I'm thinking it would be best to make a smaller cake (that would be cake number 5) and go with the buttercream mixture. I can never seem to materialize what is in my head. I had big glorious plans for this cake. Saddly I've been slapped in the face by reality. Oh well, it still tastes good even if it doesn't look all that good. Hope I get it done in time....party is tomorrow!!! And I still haven't bought a present!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
